Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors to emerge from the past. Her powerful and vulnerable performances have earned her a cult famous. Born to a renowned playwright father, but was raised by a single mom, who earned her living by working as a nurse. She became interested in theatre while having summers spent with her father and eventually pursuing a degree in acting initially at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. The actress began her Broadway career soon after completing her degree after which she made her TV debut in the next year. In the years since, she's appeared in numerous films, television productions as well as stage productions. She has been nominated for three Tony Awards, three Academy Awards, five Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her career.
