Zazie O. Beetz was conceived in Berlin on the 21st of November 1991. Her father is a German cabinet maker, who immigrated into America in the year 1990. United States in 1990 after the falling of the Berlin Wall, and her mother is a South Africa-American social worker who hails from New York. Jennifer Aniston attended the same high school as Beetz. Beetz pursued her French studies at Skidmore College, after graduating LaGuardia. Following college, she auditioned for the part as Van in Atlanta. Beetz is a native of in Berlin and was raised by a German-American father as well as an African American mother who lived in New York, spoke both German and English in her home. Zazie has been performing in theaters around the city from the time she was a young child. Her passion for acting was evident and she began to act in the elementary schools. Zendaya's Disney Channel Breakout Role Zendaya's dance skills definitely earned her acclaim. She was finally cast in her first role, Rocky Blue, along with co-star Bella Thorne, on the popular program Shake It Up. Zendaya was 11 when she became vegetarian after she saw a slaughterhouse while on a trip with her dad. She tells PEOPLE, "I thought it was awful, all those animals being stuffed inside the slaughterhouse, ready to be slaughtered. "I could not believe it was how I'd been obtaining my meat!" Seit then, she has stayed with a vegetarian diet.
