Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast. She holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores during an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi is a Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became the coach for Comaneci and first became aware of Comaneci aged six. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships. She finished 13th. In the following year, she was crowned champion. At her first international meet, which was a preolympics junior competition that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she was crowned all-around Junior Champion. In her first international competition as a senior in 1975 she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion winning four gold medals as well as one silver. The first female ever to perform the backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Her journey in the world of entertainment began in her teens when she began skating figure along with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the entertainment business during her teenage years. She began her professional career by performing figure skating with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. Ice Capades featured performances of ice-skating performed by actors.
